Every type of shoot in general has a beginning point and the entire shoot uses this as a fall upon core. Everything is based around this whole point. This is referred to as a Clients Brief.? In Fashion Shoots its the usually the Dressing style and the expressive details which inspiration is derived from, and which make all the visual difference.

For the launch of Angelo Estera?s Bridal Collection for Spring-Summer 2016, our main motive was to create something interesting, something that would stand out, something extraordinary and exciting. We decided to use our knowledge, expertise, and our personal touches to create this vibrant concept.

Putting together something as fabulous as this, requires a classic collaboration of professionals who are experts in their individual field. In every image which is loved and admired, people usually see just the image, what they don?t see is the hard work, and the amount of passion and love that goes into making that image such a success.

This blog will take you into the behind the scenes of what really went on behind this shoot and I promise you will love the image even more once you know how much of effort we have infused into this project.

The initial step for us was to form an Idea. This is the foremost and most crucial step in any campaign. Seeing the idea, gauging it, weighing it, and seeing how best it is work-able. Then working backwards to ensure the idea is worked upon, secured and all the planning is directly linked to it.

As a Photographer and Creative Art Director I do my best to make my own journey through a project more exciting, enthusiastic and parallely different then something that has been done in the past.

Making the journey from an imaginary concept to a gorgeous reality is my way of growing, evolving and flowing. Also the learning during this process is the most creative learning a person can ever experience.

Initially when I met with the Fashion Designer Angelo, i took the next few days to work hard on building the foundation required to create this piece. Mood boards were the crux in planning and communicating the ideas with the team.

It was necessary that Angelo Estera?s unique vision was linked with my own, and we were on the same page with our thoughts and final goals.

Once the theme was clearly laid down, we started working on the lego pieces to build the final structure: Models, Styling, Makeup, Hair, Lighting, Shooting and post processing.

The first grave challenge was to find an architect who can cleanly sculpt the beautiful and delicate pieces we required for the backdrop. We were really lucky when we arrived at the perfect person for this task.

The other elements were also essential to arrange, and to ensure they were perfect, exactly as we imagined them. The leaves?flowers and other adjoining requirements. But we absolutely loved what we found!

The next step was finding the models, after some selections we got the international model Ania represented by MMG models Dubai, and Aga represented by wilhelmina Dubai. Of course a fitting session before the shoot is important for measurements of dresses to make sure everything is fine before the shooting day.

Models are selected and we required to finalize the makeup and hair style. We wanted elegant styling. We got the makeup artist Amanda Kay and the hairstylist Chito Serrano & had them run over the thoughts behind the Mood board. Additionally we took their inputs and finalized it.

After all the individual elements were ready at the studio, we began putting everything together.

Getting the overall backdrop decorated in a naturalistic manner, was our biggest challenge. We didn?t want it to be too heavy to the eyes. It had to have a soothing effect. This was done the day before the shoot where the whole crew burnt midnight oil to ensure a comforting completion.

The morning of the shooting day

Lighting up the set was quite a challenge. Its an outdoor style shoot, shot in the closed atmosphere of a studio, so this meant trying to re-construct the lighting as natural as possible.

We used the Profoto heads to light different areas and maintain the depth of the space, and larg Softbox modifier to make the models stand out from the background.

I made this drawing to demonstrate the scenario :)

My main camera and lens of choice were the Nikon D810E and the 24-70mm Lens.

Light Setup

Post-production

Picking the right pictures was crucial took my time to carefully pick the right images.

From there I cropped and removed unwanted things, and did some endless series of tweaks and coloring so it was just right :)

I love photography for the opportunities and adventures it brings, projects like these are wonderful as they bring people together, to work simultaneously using their individual experience, along with collective experience to ensure the outcome is fascinating.

I made sure we have a very special behind the scene video just for you guys, just so you can see the process of creating this piece.

The dedication and hard work of a passionate team of individuals is what makes these shoots, magical, vibrant and full of magic. Hope you like it !
